The Taku River Tlingit Citizenship Draft Code

Taku River Tlingit Citizenship Code Revision Project is a project which updates the outdated 1987 Membership Code to ensure that Tlingit laws are upheld in regards to citizenship eligibility, registration, rights and responsibilities. Created by Tlingit citizens with representation from every clan, it emphasizes the importance of lineage and clan identity, provides a process for registration, approvals and appeals, as well as how honorary citizenship and adoptions work.  The revised code aims to protect ancestry, uphold cultural protocols and ensure fair, consistent citizenship decisions.
